Where must we place ourselves within the scaffold?
(Again, what is truth?)
A tired plodding through overgrown trails
(Continue to stray tempted through thickening fog)
showing signs of trespass and entry forced
(or away into billions of misleading lights)
beckoning toward nothing with promise of all.
(both blind breath and suffocate sight.)
Topic:
If a soul is born with no one around
in silent forests, in windswept boughs,
in structures not erected up from the ground,
can it be validated - (and how?)

Fork in the road just means you noticed you have free will. Congratulations, now go with God or erase yourself.

I've been reading this one over the past couple weeks. I think the structure is excellent. In the first stanza I see rhetoric alternating with parenthetical thought. My favorite part is the "topic" header for the final stanza. It almost makes the piece cinematic, since you begin with the ~conversation and later give the exposition. I don't know where that choice came from... but I'm stealing it sometime
The whole truth/reality inquisition seems to be a big deal in this group. I like what this poem inquires about the transience of meaning.
Definitely saw the “if a tree falls...” image underneath, and your interpretation strikes a chord in me. For example, “...structures not erected up from the ground” reminds me of belief structures based in ideology rather than personal experience.
Thanks again for your work, man.
